GLANC has obtained a pleasant gift to its 3-year anniversary and has released the debut album TADRM. Michasl Cerman from Second band assumed the role of speaker.
The Glanc genre may be ranged at the borderland of pop-rock-funk-jazz fusion. This Prague band originated in 2004 from students of conservatory and excels with vivid performing full of energy and own songs. Gabriela Urbankova’s expressive vocal cannot be overheard and the repertoire is exactly ‘hand-tailored’ to her by the author-couple Zdenek Beran and Jarmila Chromikova. The creative arranges of Zdenek and plays with words and Czech language of both authors artfully underlie the singer’s execution. All members of Glanc occasionally perform with well-known actor and director Zdenek Podhursky as the band Underhill. Moreover, Glanc has shot two music videos – on the song ‘Lilium Bestialis’ directed by French director Matthieu Jorrot and also on the title song ‘Sam v sadu ruzi’ from the atelier of Polofilm (directed by Andy Fehu). The CD TADRM is already available in Bontonland and other music shops over the entire country.

The music formation “Glanc” was created in years 2001/2002 when the two founders Zdeněk Beran and Felix Slováček jr. needed to realize their common musical ideas and followingly to expand their creativity in a little bit different way than their previous bands Berry and Neils enabled. By the connection of two creative individuals, the interconnection of various original music styles, moods and colours is apparent that we can hardly find in the contemporary musical production. Perhaps, they still have chance to address their audience.
After several jam sessions played together and visitation (2001/2002), first common demo records ensue, to which the very talented and budding singer Petr Kutheil was invited. Prokop Saidl took the bass guitar part. Because this formation decided to play at life concerts as often as possible, Jarmila Chromíková (keyboards - synthesizers) and Sváťta Šutera (percussion) were accompanished very soon. Tomáš Beran has played bassguitar instead of Prokop Saidl since July 2003.
After longer-termed personal and artistic disagreements within the band, Glanc was broken up by Zdenek Beran on 20th May 2004. The new group was established on 23the May 2004 in the following form:

The colaboration was offered to Felix Slováček jr. (co-author of songs, arrangements, guitars, alt sax, vocals) who has not accepted radical changes in the Glanc’s cstitution.
As for genres, the creation and repertoir of the band is to define as the fusion of rock – funk – jazz and pop.

The name „Glanc“ was dedicated from Karolina Kaiserová during thinking about the performance music-dramatic play “ He and his” (theater ensenble “Krajani”) on which a part of the band worked.
